Kids in the kitchen is a topic I am eager to discuss any day, any where, which is why I am thrilled to be participating in Food Revolution Day coming up on May 16.
FoodRev (for short) is a global day of action initiated by Jamie Oliver to examine what we put into our mouths and what our children are eating. This year’s focus? Inspiring children all over the world to get excited about real food and teaching them to cook from scratch. I am so on board. Are you?

As a mother of three, I’m keenly aware of the importance of cooking good food from scratch and getting kids excited about food. In my own home I’m daily making cooking fun for my kids and inspiring a love of real food that will last a lifetime.
Most days, it seems like such a small impact, though. Sure my 8 year old loves to assemble spring rolls and whip up a sauce (he adorably calls Hoisin Sauce “poison sauce”) and my toddler can identify most vegetables in the market, but what about a wider influence? This blog is part of that, and even more thrilling is joining millions of others in a movement to get kids excited about whole foods.
Hit the jump to read more about FoodRev 2014, learn how you can participate, and, if you’re local, find out where we can meet up at the Montréal event.
Food Revolution Day: Get involved!
This year, it is easier than ever to jump on board this exciting worldwide event and it all starts on over on FoodRevolutionDay.com. The main site is packed with information, a video from Jamie, free downloads and printables, and a great set of recipes for family cooking.
I’m fully supportive of raising awareness on how whole food impacts our health and happiness, which is why I’m proud to stand behind Food Revolution Day. This year, I’ll be participating within the Montréal FoodRev community!
I’ll be at the Real Food Market at Jean Talon Market – come check it out and sample some of our city’s best plates. There will also be a silent auction with food related prizes, a live cooking challenge and more.
Alongside two of my fellow food bloggers, I’ll be co-judging the cooking challenge between two local celebrity chefs and a mystery competitor. It could be you. Say, how are those knife skills anyway? Place your bid here.
All event proceeds are to be donated to La Tablée des Chefs, an organization dedicated to providing to families in need and educating future generations to develop food autonomy.
So follow Food Revolution Day Montreal on social media and plan to be at Jean Talon Market on May 16:
One more thing. Are you a potential sponsor for FoodRev Montreal? Ask me for the media kit and see how you can get involved, too.
Are you participating in Food Revolution Day in your area?
