I hope you’re kicking back a little this weekend and enjoying time with family and friends.
Last weekend was our gardening blitz and deck demolition, so we’re taking this one a little slower. It’s been great to hang poolside with the cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents and catch up. Although, gracious me, my children need a refresher course in pool safety 101.
Thank you for your kind comments and emails on Friday’s brunch post! I so appreciated the encouragement, and am happy you were able to laugh along with us.
Below are a few of my favourite bits and bites from around the web this week:
- 15 Canadian culinary Instagram feeds you should be following :: Eat North ~ These guys said nice things about my iPhone images. Much appreciated, Eat North!
- Vegetables and Herbed Ricotta Dumplings :: Vintage Mixer ~ Is Spring comfort food a thing? Because I think it is now.
- Rhubarb Chia Jam :: Cookie & Kate ~ I am going to be whipping this up in my kitchen this week.
- Cauliflower Rice :: A Spicy Perspective ~ Bookmarked for new summer sides to try on the kids.
- Toasted and Roasted Almond Romesco Dip :: What’s Gaby Cooking ~ This is simple summer entertaining at its finest.
- Waffle Iron Eggs :: Weelicious ~ Sheer genius. Breakfast to go just got cuter.
And don’t miss my latest post for Jamie Oliver:
- Tips for teaching toddlers in the kitchen :: Jamie Oliver ~ My article for Food Revolution Day, with cute Clara photos to boot.
Hit the jump for a quick recap of the week in photos…
Organizing spices actually looks pretty if you stand back and snap a photo.
Life is more fun with balloons.
Apple blossoms always bloom for our wedding anniversary and they steal my heart year after year.
Currently reading and nodding along to: The Nesting Place: It Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect to Be Beautiful. Somehow I think The Nester would be okay with my cluttered coffee table.
Repeat after me: Tomatoes are not going to be the boss of us this year. (I’m using 7′ stakes with a metal core this time around.)
Although my children badly need a refresher course in pool safety, I was happy the sun shone for the first official pool party of the year yesterday at my in-laws.
Our hens are so plump and fluffy this year! Just look at all the grass they get to feast on, too. They have it good.
And Clara and I discovered the very first egg from our pullets. It looks like we’re back in business.
Have a beautiful Sunday!
